Ich wurde gebeten, zu schreiben, wie man zu einem “customized” Miro Player kommt. (Hintergrund.) Ziemlich einfach:

1. Schreibe den netten Menschen von der Participatory Culture Foundation (die geben den Miro Player raus) eine Mail. Jesse Patel (jessep [at] pculture.org) ist der Ansprechpartner.

2. Schicke den Miros einen opml-File mit all deinen Podcasts. Den integrieren sie in die “customized” Miro Version.

3. Zur Miro-Plattform gehört auch ein Programmführer, englisch “channel guide”, der über 4.000 RSS-Videokanäle beinhaltet. Die speziellen Versionen enthalten einen Programmführer, der nur die Podcasts des eigenen Senders enthält. Das ist z. B. der Programmführer des NDR.

4. Wer mag, kann noch auf das Design des Programmführers Einfluss nehmen - heißt eine simple Webseite bauen und den Miros liefern.

5. Den Rest machen die Miros. Mit denen kann man sehr gut zusammenarbeiten.

Auch bei den speziellen Versionen können Nutzer mit einem Klick jeden beliebigen Podcast anderer Anbieter hinzufügen.

Was ein eigens kostümierter Miro Player kostet? Wenig. Von dem Betrag könnte sich eine Handvoll Blogger einen Sommer lang täglich ein Eis kaufen. Zwei Kugeln jeder. Zum Vergleich: Der BBC iPlayer soll ja bisher mehrere Millionen Pfund verschlungen haben. Offizielle Infos zu “Cobranded Playern” auf getmiro.com.

Die Deutsche Welle hat auch eine eigene Version der Miro-Anwendung.
