Der arabische Sender Al Jazeera unterhält unter cc.aljazeera.net ein umfangreiches Portal mit Video-Footage, das frei lizenziert ist. Der Inhalt ist extrem verstörend, Kriegsbilder aus Gaza eben, davon abgesehen ist das Portal sehr gut umgesetzt:

  • Videos werden via blip.tv eingebunden, d. h. mit embedabble Videoplayer. Ich mag blip.tv sehr, weil die  sehr hohe Qualität bieten
  • zusätzlich Downloadmöglichkeit des Materials in hoher Qualität
  • Stichpunkte fassen den Inhalt der Videos zusammen
  • Erklärung des cc-Konzepts in wenigen Worten
  • Seite ist gut designed, man findet sich zurecht
  • Verwendung der freiesten cc-Lizenz, cc-by. Sie unterstützt ideal das Ziel des Projekts - nämlich auf den Krieg aufmerksam zu machen

Wer plant, auch ein cc-Portal aufzusetzen, schaut vorher bei Al Jazeera vorbei. Es lohnt. Das Projekt illustriert außerdem, was Urheberrecht mit freier Meiunungsäußerung zu tun hat: Wer seine Botschaft in der Welt haben will, sollte auf Urheberrechte verzichten.
